Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is Kenya's largest and most important airport and was opened in 1958. It is located about 15 km southeast of Nairobi's city centre and serves as a significant hub for East Africa. The airport was named after Jomo Kenyatta, Kenya's first president. It is the main gateway to well-known safari destinations such as the Masai Mara and Amboseli National Park.

Nairobi National Park is just a few kilometres from the city centre and is unique worldwide – here you can observe lions, giraffes and rhinos with the Nairobi skyline in the background. The Giraffe Centre offers the opportunity to experience the endangered Rothschild giraffes up close and even feed them.
