The Atlanta History Center offers fascinating insights into the city's history, from its founding through to the Civil War and modern times, including impressive exhibitions and historic buildings. The Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site occupies a central place in the cultural memory. It encompasses the civil rights leader's birth home, Ebenezer Baptist Church where he preached, as well as his grave and the Freedom Hall Complex, a significant site for the American Civil Rights Movement.

In the heart of the city centre lies the green Centennial Olympic Park, which was created for the 1996 Olympic Games. Today, it is a vibrant meeting place – with interactive fountains, concert venues and direct access to some of the city's most famous attractions. Right next door is the Georgia Aquarium, one of the largest aquariums worldwide, which impresses with whale sharks, manta rays and fascinating underwater landscapes.

Also in the immediate vicinity is the World of Coca-Cola, an interactive museum dedicated to the history of the iconic brand, including a tasting zone with drinks from all over the world.
