It is located approximately 50 km north of Oslo city centre and is Norway's largest airport. The airport has its own high-speed rail link to the city centre (Flytoget) and is considered one of the most modern and environmentally friendly airports in Europe. Particularly exceptional: visitors can walk on the sloping roof while enjoying views over the city and water \u2013 art, architecture, and panorama combined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the expansive Vigeland Sculpture Park, over 200 sculptures by Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland impress \u2013 expressive, monumental, and set amidst greenery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of the elegant Karl Johans Gate stands the Royal Palace, the official residence of the Norwegian royal family. In the summer, the gardens are open to the public \u2013 with manicured paths and a touch of royal tranquility in the heart of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A must for sports and view enthusiasts is the Holmenkollen Ski Jump. Located high above Oslo, it not only offers exciting insights into Norway's winter sports tradition, but also a spectacular panoramic view of the city, fjord, and forests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Useless knowledge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Oslo, there's a metro station from which you can go directly onto a ski slope. Metro in, skis out, off you go. Who needs apr\u00e8s-ski when you can have pre-ski?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Norwegians are considered hardy when it comes to the weather \u2013 when temperatures drop below zero, they simply put on a thicker wool jumper and their smiles become even more relaxed.
